Edge Balance – Mistral explores the point at which opposing forces meet without overcoming one another. The form holds tension and stillness in equilibrium, appearing suspended at the edge of movement.
Its asymmetrical contours shift between stability and instability as the sculpture is viewed from different angles. Rather than resolving this tension, the work holds it in place, creating a moment of balance that feels both deliberate and fragile.
Handbuilt in stoneware, the soft ivory surface is layered with subtle Mistral tones and warm highlights along the edges. The restrained finish responds gently to light, emphasizing the changing contours and contrasts within the form.
