Link — A collaboration between Joanne Najjar Art × Lilly the Twilly
Link explores the meeting point between earth and silk.
Clay holds its form. Silk carries movement.
In this collection, silk is not treated as an accessory placed onto the ceramic. It becomes part of the composition, weaving through sculpted openings, wrapping around the form and introducing movement, color and narrative into the solidity of stoneware.
The collaboration brings together Joanne Najjar’s sculptural ceramic practice and Lilly the Twilly’s silk craftsmanship. Each ceramic form is conceived and handbuilt in Najjar’s studio, where structure, texture and the integration of silk are developed as part of the sculpture itself.
Lilly the Twilly’s silk pieces introduce imagery inspired by Beirut, Lebanon, women and desert landscapes, adding fluidity and narrative to the ceramic forms.
Together, the two materials create a dialogue between structure and movement, permanence and fluidity, while each retains its own character within a single sculptural composition.
Onde – Link Collection
Onde captures a wave at the height of its movement, rising and unfolding before being suspended in time. The sculptural edges lift and ripple with an unexpected softness, creating a tension between the weight of stoneware and the apparent lightness of the form.
Through the central opening passes Lilly the Twilly’s Lebanon Edition Twilly, the brand’s first twilly, created in 2024. Inspired by Beirut’s old balconies, vibrant colors and cultural heritage, the silk carries a visual memory of the city through the ceramic form.
The upward gesture of the sculpture and the narrative of the silk come together around a shared idea of Lebanon. Onde becomes a work about resilience and aspiration, a wave of earth rising with quiet strength and expressing a desire to see Lebanon rise again.
