Rise Désir II – Terre de Feu explores desire as a force that draws the form upward. Rising from a grounded base, flowing lines guide the movement toward an open silhouette, creating a gesture that feels both determined and light.
The sculpture expands as it rises, shifting between stability and movement. Its changing profile reveals different relationships between line, volume and space from every angle, while the open upper form gives the movement a sense of release.
Handbuilt in Terre de Feu stoneware, the warm red clay is contrasted by darkened edges and expressive brush-like markings that follow the contours of the form. These gestures reinforce its upward direction while allowing the natural character of the clay to remain visible.
