Rise Désir IV – Terre de Feu

Rise Désir IV – Terre de Feu

On View

Rise Désir IV – Terre de Feu, explores desire as an instinctive movement outward and upward - a force that stretches beyond containment.

Hand-built in Terre de Feu stoneware, the sculpture unfolds into multiple rising gestures, each following its own direction while remaining rooted in a shared base. Deep, flowing lines travel vertically across the surface, emphasizing the sense of ascent and guiding the eye toward the irregular openings above.

The warm, earthy red of the clay is left largely exposed, while darkened edges trace the contours of the form, intensifying its depth and giving the piece an almost charred, elemental quality. Openings between the rising walls introduce negative space as an active part of the sculpture, allowing light and shadow to continually reshape it from different viewpoints.

Part of the Rise collection, Désir embodies an inner impulse becoming physical - a moment of expansion, reaching and becoming, suspended in clay.

Currently on view at Maya Art Space, Beirut, through September 7, 2026. Available for acquisition upon inquiry.
