Rise Racine I – Terre Brûlée explores the relationship between belonging, growth, and independence. Two sculptural forms emerge from a shared base, rising and opening in different directions. Their separation suggests individual paths, while their common origin reflects the invisible connections that continue to shape us.
Deep vertical folds create an upward movement, recalling the organic rhythms of roots and natural growth. The irregular edges and open space between the forms introduce a delicate tension between connection and separation.
Handbuilt in Terre Brûlée stoneware, the sculpture's dark, earthy surface is enriched by subtle bronze-brown highlights. Its textured contours catch the light, emphasizing the contrast between the strength of the grounded base and the freedom of the rising forms.
