Rise Racine II – Forêt explores the tension between grounding and ascent, the instinct to remain rooted while continuing to grow and reach upward.
Carved lines travel through the form like roots reversing their direction, tracing an inner force from the base toward the opening above. Layered forest greens deepen toward the interior, bringing a sense of depth and recalling the shifting light beneath a dense canopy.
The satin and glossy surfaces respond differently to light, revealing the carved lines and changing contours of the form. As the sculpture rises and opens, its grounded base gives way to a gesture of expansion and growth.
