Wave – Terre Brûlée explores movement through a form that rises and unfolds in layered, undulating gestures. The edges open in different directions, creating a shifting rhythm between expansion and containment.
The dark earthen body gives the sculpture a strong sense of weight, while its thin, irregular edges introduce lightness and movement. This contrast creates a tension between the grounded character of the clay and the gesture of the form as it appears to lift and open.
Handbuilt in Terre Brûlée stoneware, the surface is largely left raw to preserve the natural depth and texture of the clay. A pale, lava-like glaze traces the edges, catching the light and emphasizing the contours against the darker body.
