Wave – Terre de Feu Rise explores movement through a form that rises, curves and unfolds in a continuous gesture. Its undulating edges shift in direction as they move around the sculpture, creating a changing rhythm between openness and enclosure.
The form appears caught in motion, with each viewpoint revealing a different relationship between the folds, edges and central space. Despite the weight of the clay, the upward movement and thin contours give the sculpture a sense of lightness.
Handbuilt in Terre de Feu stoneware, the warm terracotta body is contrasted by deep charcoal edges applied by hand. The dark transitions follow the movement of the form, emphasizing its contours while preserving the raw, tactile character of the clay.
