Wave – Terre de FeuSignature explores movement through a form that unfolds outward in layered, undulating gestures. Curving edges rise and shift around the central opening, creating a rhythm that moves continuously through the sculpture.
The overlapping layers create changing relationships between openness and enclosure. As the work is viewed from different angles, the silhouette transforms, holding the gesture at a moment when the form appears to be expanding beyond its grounded base.
Handbuilt in Terre de Feu stoneware, the warm terracotta surface is contrasted by deep charcoal edges applied by hand. The darkened contours follow the direction of the movement, emphasizing the folds and thin edges while preserving the raw character of the clay.
